Together, we’ll figure out where you’re at and develop the plan to get you where you want to be. You’ll receive completely bespoke programs designed to help juggle all of these aspects of training effectively. I’ll handle the complexities in the background so you can focus on what’s important; living your life, staying healthy and continuing to do the activities you love even into your older years.
You understand that your level of fitness will directly effect the quality of your life as you age. However, you also live a busy life. You have a lot of interests and responsibilities and there are complexities that come with trying to figure this out on your own.
It took me 3 years of testing different methods in my flexibility training until I could touch my toes. I can now get people these same results in 3-6 weeks...
Save yourself the frustration and wasted time of the trial and error approach and instead, learn from someone who's been where you are and had to go through everything that didn't work to find what did.
You've likely been in this situation before: really you know what you should do and doing the basics will get you a long way, however, if you're not currently where you want to be, it's less likely to be an information problem and more likely: a consistency problem. Having someone else push you to turn up is a game changer.
Most programs you find online do not take into account that you have a life outside of the gym. They expect you to suddenly become a full time bodybuilder. For most of us, this isn't achievable and certainly not sustainable long term. This is why you need programming that takes all the elements of your life into account. You want a program that adapts to your circumstances and changes with you. This is how you stay consistent as you age.
Built from the ground up to suit your needs and fit around your schedule

The biggest thing I’ve always tried to work towards is keeping focus as much as possible on the science and metric aspect of training for great progress and results without losing the human element of personal training. Ultimately, Everyone lives unique lives and has unique goals. This is why my training process takes you into account.
You can find these at the bottom of each of the training options. Alternatively, if you’re unsure of which option to go for, you can send a message through the form at the bottom of this page. I’ll read through this application and make sure that your goals are something I can help you with. I’ll then send you a reply and if everything looks good, I’ll also include a link to my schedule so we can book in a time for a zoom call.
We’ll discuss your current and previous training, any injuries or restrictions you currently deal with, your goal, your lifestyle and how much time you have to dedicate towards training. I’ll then get you set up on the apps we use and assign you some movements and strength assessments for you to film and send back to me.
After reviewing your assessments and figuring out your starting point, I’ll develop your program. We will then have another zoom call to discuss the plan and make sure everything is okay. From here, you’ll be send an invoice for your first month and your training will be set for you.
When you start your training, we’ll be continually communicating to make sure everything is going okay with your plan. Adjustments can be made where necessary (although we try not to jump between goals too much). We will also have a catch up call at the end f each training phase (every 4-6 weeks) to discuss things in more detail before we move on to the next phase of training.
Tracking your progress, setting new goals to aim for, regular check ins and changes to training where needed mean that you won’t have to worry about getting into a training rut again. Keep progressing, keep setting and achieving new goals, keep training exciting and enjoyable and ultimately, keep active and healthy in the long run.
The short answer is no! There are certainly some goals that would benefit from having access to weights but you can get strong and flexible just using your bodyweight. This means if it’s summer time and you want to be doing your workouts in your garden, I can design your program with this in mind.
I’ve trained 16 year olds and 84 year olds. Everyone can progress in their fitness journey but of course, training will need to adapt as you get older. Having said this, I’ve coached people in their mid 50’s to achieve levels of strength and flexibility they never had in their youth!
I tend to prefer broad strokes when it comes to nutrition: general ideas that will guide you in the right direction. Ultimately, nutrition is completely individual and what works for one person, won’t work for another. Having said that, if weight gain / loss is one of your goals then you can be given macronutrient recommendations but again, these will only be numbers to aim for, it will be on you to fill in the gaps on what foods make up those numbers based on your body and your personal preferences.
As much as you like! Any questions and videos of your training are welcome. Some people will need / want to contact me more than others to feel confident with their training.
Here's some of the incredible things my clients have already achieved.
I'm Dan Isherwood, a certified Level 3 REPs Personal Trainer since 2019, with experience coaching at Next Level Fitness in the Isle of Man since 2021. Credentials aside, three pivotal moments shaped my coaching philosophy:
1. After qualifying, I crafted what I thought was the "ultimate strength plan," but my first client's physical limitations taught me the importance of prioritising mobility over just strength gains. Witnessing their improved quality of life ignited a passion for holistic fitness.
2. I later coached an exceptionally active and mobile 84-year-old client which prompted me to delve into longevity training. Understanding what made this person (and many others who I've spoken to and trained at the gym) different from most other elderly people lead to the prioritisation of sustainability and health span over mere lifespan to become a cornerstone of my coaching philosophy.
3. Despite my competitive gymnastics background, I lost my flexibility when I took up weight training. The real reason I’m interested in flexibility & mobility training (apart from the above) is actually just because everyone expected me to be flexible and yet I was the most inflexible person I knew. Normal stretching wasn’t helping so I had to really dive into what works for developing flexibility for adults. It took me 3 years of trial and error just to touch my toes. I can now get the same results for clients in 3-6 weeks.
Hiring a coach can be a big commitment and there is always the possibility that you don't vibe with my style of training or we're just not a good fit.
So here's what we're going to do:
If you don't absolutely love working with me within the first 2 weeks as we get everything set up and start your training, I'll completely refund your payment, no questions asked.
You have nothing to lose and lots to gain.
